Humans are complex beings composed of physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual systems that are always seeking alignment. Health and illness involve all of these systems, and when one is not balanced, it affects the others.
In a comfortable, safe, and supportive atmosphere, I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my clients' individual needs to help them attain the personal growth they are striving for. Together with each client, I work to develop strengths and achieve life goals.
Everyone deserves to find peace and balance in their lives. Individual counseling aids this process through techniques of self-exploration, creative expression, and personal awareness. Counseling provides the tools needed for individuals to find the happiness they seek by helping them understand their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The relationship between you and your counselor is the foundation upon which effective change takes place.

A Preview of Mindfulness-Based Meditations:
"I have invited Dr. Milspaw to speak to professional groups and to people dealing with chronic illnesses. She did an outstanding job each time. Dr. Milspaw is an excellent resource to help people all of walks of life face their challenges and better manage stress for overall wellness. I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Milspaw as a professional and as a person. I recommend her wholeheartedly." - Jill McComsey, personal injury litigation attorney
"I was a bit nervous before my first appointment with Alex, but her friendly, welcoming demeanor put me at ease from the moment I walked in. In my sessions she exhibited the perfect combination of professionalism, expertise and compassionate listening. I feel grateful to have worked with someone so skilled in all these areas - a rare find." - Julie K.S.
I'm a Christian so while I am used to praying, I have not really ventured into meditation, at least not for pain management. And I was a little skeptical of the whole mindful angle and it being helpful. But I tried out the CD a few weeks after the retreat during a particulatly bad flare-up and was shocked at how it helped calm my mind and thus my central nervous system. Now I'm addicted to that CD! Often listening to it at night when for whatever reason my meds don't knock me out and I cannot sleep - it sends me to oblivion. I have woken up in the morning with the ear plugs still in my ear. Who knew Alex had the perfect soothing voice for this work?
I am grateful for the inclusion of the CD and hope others are using it as well. - Kristin, Alliance for Pelvic Pain 2013 Retreat Participant
"Your relaxation cd has proved to be a Godsend in my life in so many ways. Physically it helps me to fall right to sleep and even when I wake up it helps to lull me back to sleep again. Emotionally and Mentally it calms me down when I have gotten to the points lately of panic attacks. If not for you and your cd I would not have made it through these past 2 weeks as well as I did. I have also used the tapping method to help relieve my migraines. It released a lot of pressure and reduced pain by a great extent." - Kerry L.H.
"Wow! I never believed I could feel this relaxed and at peace. This is amazing." - Laura D.
"I have to tell you, today I feel incredible. I woke up in a great mood and have been in one all day. It’s been weeks since I have felt even remotely close to this. So, thank you. You are doing a VERY good thing and you can go to bed tonight knowing you helped one more person" - Tammy C.
